Why is Headway here?
A brain injury can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. Despite good initial treatment, life after discharge can be seriously problematic for survivors and their families.
The injury can range from a bump on the head which leaves minimal long-term consequences, to a catastrophic injury which irrevocably alters the pattern of a person's life.
A brain injury will not only affect the person injured, it also has a dramatic effect on the rest of the family.
How can we help ?
Headway offers emotional and practical support and understanding.
We provide guidance, information and literature about all aspects of brain injury.
We provide opportunities for you to meet or talk with others wo have had similar experiences.
We facilitate support group meetings, social outlet, family respite and encourage re-integration.
